A Bell Ringer's Nightmare

from Time Capsule by John Oliver

/

about

One day in 1987, while taking a break from composing my epic work El Reposo del Fuego (for DX7II/TX802 synths & tape), I improvised on the DX7 keyboard with a special microtuning. The work features pulsing that keeps giving way to digital cluster noise that “wipes the ears.” For the avant-garde geeks, you will hear the non-octave space of the major seventh throughout, so stacked perfect and augmented 4ths musical intervals.
