about

Soundscape improvisation

John Oliver takes Stefan's first improvisation as the basis for a 54-note sampled instrument that features clicking sounds of a metal rod (slide) on the strings, and the low attack notes, performed on the extended strings of the lute, so prominent in the improvisations. These sounds are fed through a very volatile grain-delay with feedback circuit, which creates the resonant gestures.
