about

Soundscape improvisation

John Oliver created a sampled instrument out of the background sounds of the village, which included dogs barking, a rooster crowing, a night club beat, car horns, and more. There are pulsing wind-like and crackling sounds throughout that echo the night club beat, reminding me of the feeling of wind passing by the ears or through vegetation, or walking near waterfalls. The resulting soundscape composition was improvised in one take.
