Stefan Östersjö - Mountain Memory

about

Second Improvisation by Stefan Östersjö

The wind was rather soft on the mountain, and often on a level at which it only would excite harmonics on a string that was already vibrating. Plucking the extended strings, the very low pitched bass notes, is therefore a method for bringing out the clusters of aeolian sound. But, here, these bass notes are combined with single attacks played with a metal slide. Also, the aim was to create a multi-layered texture, with bass notes, fingered melodic playing, the clicking attacks and the aeolian sound.
